HUSCO Recognized as 2014 Wisconsin Business of the Year

Celebrating its 27th year, the Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year Award recognizes manufacturers for their innovation, investment in cutting-edge technology, and contribution to the vibrancy of the state’s economy. This year’s seven winners were selected from among 40 nominees by an independent panel of judges representing manufacturing, service and the public sector. HUSCO International received a Grand Award in the Mega category.

HUSCO CEO, Austin Ramirez, was excited to receive this honor, “Everyone here at HUSCO is thrilled to accept this prestigious award. It represents the hard work and dedication that our employees display each and every day. Our continued growth and success would not be possible without the devoted people of our organization.”

HUSCO’s win was based on excellent performance among a number of categories. In less than five years, HUSCO has tripled its global sales due to strong performance in its off-highway and automotive divisions. In addition to that tremendous business growth, the company’s ability to successfully launch fuel efficient automotive products has resulted in a greater effective reduction of greenhouse emissions and fossil fuel consumption than the cumulative effect of every electric automobile on the road today.

HUSCO also takes pride in making significant and strategic philanthropic contributions to benefit and improve their communities, including Milwaukee and the greater Southeastern Wisconsin area, with a special focus on education and improving the lives of children.

HUSCO’s success in building a distinctive work environment has been recognized by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Top Workplace award for each of the past three years. Husco’s unique culture is driven by a management philosophy that relies on the core values of innovation, intelligent risk-taking and an unwavering dedication to excellence. That philosophy results in a highly capable and motivated workforce that continuously pushes the company forward to new heights. HUSCO hires outstanding people with a passion for achieving excellence and gives them the freedom to do their job with minimal bureaucracy and with ever increasing professional responsibility.

“I am proud and fortunate to live in a state where one of our most powerful and dynamic industries – manufacturing – is devoted to innovation, investment in cutting-edge technology, the shaping and development of top-notch employees and the distribution on a worldwide basis of such an expansive selection of goods. Wisconsin’s manufacturers never settle for good, or even great, they are constantly striving to maintain that level of excellence and lead the pack when it comes to new ideas and best practices,” said Kurt R. Bauer, WMC President/CEO.
