HUSCO Nears Completion of Off-Highway Restructuring

Company Positioned Well for Future Growth

HUSCO International, a global leader in the development and manufacture of hydraulic and electro-hydraulic controls for the off-highway and automotive industries, announced today that it is nearing completion of its previously-announced restructuring initiative designed to better position the company to respond to current and projected demand for its off-highway business.

Following a five-year downturn in the energy, mining, construction and agricultural industries, HUSCO International is consolidating off-highway assembly, machining and maintenance operations from three to two domestic manufacturing facilities. While this consolidation is resulting in a reduction of approximately 80 off-highway salaried and hourly positions in Waukesha, Wisconsin, 50 jobs have been created at the company’s off-highway production at its plants in Whitewater, Wisconsin, and Maquoketa, Iowa. Previous media reports that impacted positions were “outsourced” overseas are incorrect.

As the company nears completion of this initiative, it also confirmed it proactively and fully returned any state tax incentives for which it did not meet its goals.

Moving forward, HUSCO’s product engineering, research and development and automotive manufacturing will continue to expand in Waukesha

HUSCO remains committed to being a strong employer in both Waukesha and the other facilities it operates. This includes continued improvements to its facilities, hiring new workers to support growing product lines and remaining an employer of choice to its loyal workforce. Additional large-scale growth plans are being finalized, and will be announced in the near future.
